About us →

We are proud to be recognized by the IRS as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) public charity. Through the generosity of our supporters and the dedication of our volunteers, we create beautiful dresses that bring joy to young girls around the world.
Sew Love brings together people who share a love of sewing and a desire to make a difference in the lives of children around the world.
Our volunteers create beautiful, handmade dresses for young girls who may have never owned a brand-new dress. Each dress is lovingly sewn with the hope of bringing joy, dignity, and a reminder that someone cares. Since our project began, we've delivered more than 1,000 dresses and sanitary kits to Uganda and Kenya.
Our volunteers gather once a month to select colorful fabrics and trims from generously donated materials and cut fabric using our dress patterns. Each volunteer then takes the prepared materials home to sew one or more dresses, with many of our dedicated seamstresses creating several dresses between meetings.
One of our favorite moments is when everyone returns with their finished dresses. Seeing the creativity, beautiful colors, and individual touches makes every gathering a celebration!
We partner with North Coast Church in Vista, California, which helps deliver our handmade dresses through its international mission trips.
These dresses reach girls in communities around the world, where they are personally distributed to the children.
For our volunteers, knowing that something made with their own hands can bring happiness to a child thousands of miles away is what makes Sew Love so meaningful.
Sew Love is also about friendship, creativity, and community. Our volunteers enjoy working together, sharing their talents, and building lasting connections while doing something that truly matters.
Every dress is a gift of love.
